Description
A striking vintage Accessocraft N.Y.C. snake belt formed from flexible silver-tone coil tubing and finished with sculptural serpent heads at the front. The double-wrap construction gives the belt a sleek, jewelry-like presence at the waist, while the articulated body allows it to curve naturally around the figure.
The design is minimal from a distance, but the close-up details make it exceptional: textured snake head and tail, closely ribbed metalwork, and a fluid silhouette that feels equal parts glamorous and modernist.
Curator’s Note
Accessocraft pieces are especially compelling when the design moves beyond ordinary costume jewelry and becomes something almost sculptural. This belt does exactly that.
The serpent motif has a long history in fashion and adornment, but here it is reduced to a clean metallic line around the waist. The effect is elegant rather than theatrical. Styled over a simple dress, it reads almost like a piece of body jewelry.
