A rare late 1950s–early 1960s skirted swimsuit by Sprite for Sea Nymph, featuring a striking celestial starburst print scattered across a deep midnight ground. The novelty textile—radiating bursts, constellations, and fine dotted stars—is characteristic of the period’s fascination with atomic and space-age motifs.

The silhouette is sculpted through center-front ruching, creating a defined waist while maintaining a smooth, contoured line. The bust is structured and shaped, framed by a softly scalloped overlay that adds dimension without excess volume. Elasticized side panels provide controlled flexibility, allowing the piece to contour the body while retaining its original form.

Finished with a metal back zipper and an adjustable halter strap with button closures, this piece reflects a moment when swimwear was constructed with the same consideration as ready-to-wear garments. The strap may also be removed for strapless wear.
