During the 1980s, fashion increasingly intersected with graphic art, illustration, and pop-art imagery, as designers explored surface as a primary form of expression. Faux fur became an especially effective medium for this experimentation, allowing bold motifs to be rendered with dimensional texture and movement.
This coat exemplifies that moment: the repeated faces motif references contemporary pop-art and neo-expressionist aesthetics while remaining abstract enough to function as a graphic textile rather than novelty imagery.
