Description
A stunning example of antique women’s finery. This 1890’s walking coat is fashioned out of wool in a light ivory color and lined with silk on the interior. Embroidered style trim along the front features a geometric pattern with knots. Accent trim along the collar, front lapels, sleeve cuffs and hemline. Soutache pattern on the back in a swirl and geometric vertical pattern. Hidden hook and eye closure on the front of the garment. Shoulders have a puff fullness to them.
In good condition given its age. The silk on the interior has shattered in places and the same can be seen on the front of the piece. Several small moth holes in various spots along with areas of silk that has come off on the sleeve cuffs. A wonderful and well made intricately detailed garment. A very small size, refer to measurement’s below.
