Description
A wonderfully nostalgic little gathering of Georgie the gentle ghost, the beloved character created by illustrator and author Robert Bright.
This four-book collection brings together Georgie’s quietly mischievous adventures in wonderfully graphic mid-century illustrations—moonlit houses, crooked trees, friendly ghosts, owls, cats and just enough spooky atmosphere to make them perfect for autumn.
The set includes:
- Georgie and the Robbers
- Georgie and the Noisy Ghost
- Georgie to the Rescue
- Georgie
The books have a fantastic blue, black, white and yellow palette that looks almost made for Halloween display. They are especially charming grouped on a shelf, tucked into a vintage children’s room, or added to a collection of classic illustrated books and seasonal ephemera.
Curator’s Note
There is something especially good about Halloween when it is a little strange and a little sweet.
Georgie isn’t frightening—he’s the sort of ghost who belongs in an old house where the floorboards creak, an owl watches from the tree outside, and everyone is eventually invited in.
The worn covers only make this set better. These were books that were actually read, carried around and loved.
