Curator’s Note
Not every historic garment was intended to be seen outside the home. Nightwear from the early twentieth century often balanced utility with small moments of decoration — embroidery at the neckline, softened gathers, or a carefully finished edge. These details transformed ordinary cotton into something personal and lasting. This example retains that quieter quality, sitting somewhere between clothing and textile study.
